Are you a home potter? Or someone looking for extra kiln access? Our kiln has space for you, no membership needed.
Our studio is fitted with two electric kilns, a Skutt KM-1027 and a SPS 236. We bisque to ^04 and glaze fire to ^6 on a regular basis, we also vitrify Redart terracotta without grog.
If you have us fire a whole kiln load, we will fire to any common schedule and any cone up to ^6, unusual firing schedules will be considered for an additional fee.
Piece Guidelines
- Greenware needs to be bone dry.
- Pieces should be marked with a consistently recognizable maker’s mark or name.
- If glazed, please leave at least a 1/4 inch margin of space between the bottom of the pot and glaze surface.
- If you’re concerned about glaze drippage, drop off your piece with a clay cookie underneath.
Process
- Schedule a meeting by phone (360)301-5646 or email, to assess your pieces and firing requirements.
- Leave items to be fired.
- When the items are ready for pickup we will notify you via your preferred contact method.
- Pickup your pieces within 30 days.
Please note that firing services are provided at customers risk, you accept that your pieces may be damaged either in firing or storage and you will not be compensated.
Our prices reflect included maintenance and occasional damage to the kiln so additional charges are unusual.
